The Sorry Epidemic

I realize this is only my second blog post and it's not photography related but this has been weighing on my heart lately and I just needed to write about.

"Sorry my hair looks so bad"

"Sorry my house is such a mess"

"Sorry my kid is only wearing one shoe"

The "Sorry" epidemic.

When did women suddenly feel the need to apologize to each other for everything. I am completely guilty of this. I apologize to my closest friends when they come over and there are dishes in the sink. I apologize to my babysitter when my son has a little leftover breakfast on his face at drop off. I apologize to the store cashier when my hair looking like a starling's nest on top of my head. And it's not just me.  My friend's do the same thing. Even colleagues will apologize to me for things I never even noticed.

Guess what? I'm not judging you.

Do you know why? Cause at the end of the day, we are all just trying to do our best to live this beautiful life. So next time I see you or you see a friend and they apologize to you for something silly, do me a favor. Tell them "It's ok". Tell them "I don't care". Give them a hug and tell they they are beautiful. Life is messy and it's okay to embrace it.

Oh and please don't judge me ;)
